Hi! My name is Macey Pfeifer. I was born and raised right here in Hays, and I’m proud to call this community my lifelong home. I graduated from Fort Hays State University with a Bachelor of Science in Organizational Leadership—a field that perfectly aligns with my passion for helping others grow and thrive. Throughout my life, I’ve been deeply involved in volunteer work and community-driven events. I believe in the power of giving back and creating opportunities for people to become the best versions of themselves. Whether it's lending a hand at a local event or mentoring someone through a new challenge, I find true fulfillment in making a positive impact. Outside of work and volunteering, I love spending quality time with my friends and family.

Hello! My name is Laura Shoaff. Originally from Great Bend, KS, I fell in love with Hays after graduating from Fort Hays State University. I received a Bachelor of Science degree in Elementary Education with a Minor in Early Childhood. I taught preschool for 23 years before changing careers.

Helping people is one of my passions and a reason I enjoy working as a Client Service Specialist. I have experienced numerous blessings that First Call For Help provides Ellis County, KS residents. Our services assist people of all ages, and many people refer to our organization as a “hidden gem”.  Although we do not have a money tree growing in our building, 😉we do have a generous community full of resources.

Outside of work, I enjoy spending time with my family and friends, playing with my granddaughters, and grandpuppies, Golden Doodle, Willow & Great Dane, Dewey!

My name is Michelle, and I am a graduate of Fort Hays State University with a Bachelor’s degree in Justice Studies. I am a certified peer mentor in the state of Kansas and bring more than 35 years of customer service experience, which has shaped my ability to support others with empathy, professionalism, and clear communication.

I am excited to be working at First Call for Help and grateful for the opportunity to serve and give back to members of the community. I am passionate about providing support, guidance, and resources to those in need, and I am proud to be part of an organization dedicated to care and connection.
